Program Director
Trisha Sterringer, PhD, RDN, CSCS
Dr. Sterringer, PhD, RD, is a registered dietitian and published researcher specializing in performance nutrition and physiology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Cincinnati and completed her Master’s and Dietetic Internship in Public Health Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Sterringer holds a PhD from Virginia Tech, where she studied the intersection of energy availability, bone health, and athletic performance.
Dr. Sterringer has worked in several areas of dietetics including past roles as the Director of Nutrition Services and Wellness Dietitian at Be Well Solutions, and as a faculty advisor for the Be Well Solutions Dietetic Internship. After completing her PhD, Dr. Sterringer took a position with Leidos and the Naval Health Research Center as a Physiology and Nutrition Researcher. In this role, she supported the research efforts of the Food Utilization and Energy Lab to optimize warfighter performance through nutrition.
A recognized leader in her field, she was named the 2024 “Emerging Dietetics Leader” by the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and received the “Outstanding Dietetic Student Award” for the State of Ohio in 2017. As an active member of many professional organizations, she currently holds board leadership roles with the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Professionals in Nutrition for Exercise and Sports (PINES).
Outside of work, Dr. Sterringer enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and crafting. She has also completed over 10 marathons in her quest to run one in all 50 states.

Associate Director & Faculty Advisor
Tristyn Patrick, MS, MBA, RDN, LD
Tristyn completed her undergraduate studies at Williams College, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in English literature. She went on to receive her MBA from Harvard Business School, subsequently working in the fields of investment banking, strategy consulting, and academic publishing. After a long career in business, Tristyn decided to pursue her passion for nutrition full-time. She earned her master’s degree in Public Health Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University, completing CWRU’s coordinated dietetic internship program to become a registered dietitian. Her internship included rotations at Orange City Schools, MetroHealth Broadway Health Center, DaVita Dialysis, Cuyahoga County WIC, Hillcrest Hospital, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA.
After completing her master’s, Tristyn stayed on at CWRU to teach nutrition courses at the undergraduate level. She then joined Be Well Solutions as a Wellness Dietitian, playing an integral role in many of BWS’s corporate wellness activities, including biometric screenings, one-on-one client counseling, and educational seminars. Her areas of specialization include gastrointestinal disorders, plant-based dietary patterns, diabetes management, weight loss, and healthy weight gain. She became a Faculty Advisor for BWS DI’s second cohort, and has enjoyed mentoring interns ever since.
In her free time, Tristyn takes in as many of Cleveland’s wonderful art exhibits, plays, lectures and films as she can. She also enjoys hiking, skiing, fitness classes, and spending time with her husband and two college-aged children.

Outreach & Communications Manager
Jorden Edinger, MS, RDN, LD
Jorden Edinger earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and her master’s degree in Nutrition from Kent State University. During graduate school, she served as a graduate assistant, coordinating community nutrition initiatives and programming for students. She also began building her expertise in nutrition communications through internships with media dietitians and All Access Dietetics before completing her dietetic internship at the University of Houston.
As a Registered Dietitian, Jorden has experience in wellness coaching, functional medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, and nutrition communications. In recent years, she has specialized in social media management and digital marketing for nutrition and wellness businesses.
Outside of work, Jorden enjoys baking, gardening, tackling home DIY projects, and spending quality time with her husband and their two young children.

Faculty Advisor
Susan E. Adams, MS, RDN, LD, FAND
Susan Adams completed her undergraduate degree in food and nutrition with a minor in business and communications at The University of Akron and her graduate degree in nutrition at Kent State University. Her master’s thesis focused on nutrition education of Type II diabetics and the impact that their spouses/significant others had on the diabetics’ nutrition knowledge and retention of knowledge.
As a Registered Dietitian, Susan Adams has over forty years of professional experience including managing foodservice departments in hospitals and employee feeding operations, counseling a variety of outpatient clients in proper nutrition principles to regain health, evaluation and demonstration of consumer kitchen equipment, menu development, employee training, and employee wellness consulting. Since 2001, Susan has taught undergraduate nutrition students and dietetic interns at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Susan has extensive experience as a consultant to numerous assisted living accounts in the Philadelphia area where she helps senior residents to live healthier lives partly through good nutrition.
In 2012, Susan was awarded the “Outstanding Dietetic Educator in a Coordinated Program” for the State of Pennsylvania and in 2022 she received the “Outstanding Dietitian” award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. An active member of many professional organizations, she currently serves the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Member of The Academy’s Quality Management Committee and is a former delegate to the Academy’s House of Delegates. She is a Fellow of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND).
In her spare time, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband Greg, her dog Tucker and visiting with her two adult children and her new granddaughter. She likes to walk daily and enjoys cooking for her family and friends. Susan believes that food and positive nutrition has the power to help us lead healthy lives and she enjoys helping educate the next generation and the greatest generation.

Faculty Advisor
Sherre Wilson, MBA, RDN, LD
Sherre completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. She embarked on a career in the financial services industry, implementing event planning strategies and engaging in varied management projects. Sherre returned to Penn State early in her management career to obtain her Masters in Business Administration.
With a constant eye on a potential segue to a second career, and having always had an interest in nutrition, Sherre returned to school, attending Immaculata University’s didactic nutrition program. In the midst of that program, she departed the financial corporate world in order to devote full time to her nutrition studies, capping off her studies through a dietetic internship with Be Well Solutions. Throughout her internship program, Sherre engaged in varied studies, including corporate wellness, dialysis, and, merging with her prior corporate experience, nutritional policy and administration. Her internship included a rotation at the Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, Virginia.
Most recently, Sherre has been engaged in the service of corporate wellness, working for a company which provides structured education programs for employees of institutional clients, in both group and individual settings. Her work currently also involves private one-on-one counseling to individuals on diet and nutrition issues.
Throughout her adult life, Sherre has placed an emphasis on nutrition and physical fitness. A daily gym-goer ever since her teenage years, soon after Sherre’s receipt of her RDN certification, Sherre joined the staff of a large national health and fitness center as an on-staff Dietition. This opportunity arose out of the merger of Sherre’s interests in fitness and nutrition. Her passion is in fostering in others, through fitness and diet, a desire to live their best lives. She also practices what she preaches; Sherre is an accomplished athlete in her own right, having recently trained for, and competed in, triathlons in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington D.C. She has recently also become a certified aerobics instructor. On her workout “rest days,” Sherre can be found on the golf course, working to lower her handicap, or competing in a club team match.
In addition, Sherre is certified to facilitate several volunteer programs in her community. Through her affiliation with the County Department of Aging, she currently leads a program, “A Matter of Balance,” designed to assist seniors to overcome their fears of everyday living, particularly the risks common falls. She is also currently preparing to expand her involvement in a community outreach program aimed at assisting patients with Chronic Disease Self-Management.
In addition to her fitness and exercise activities outlined above, in her free time, Sherre is an avid bookworm and a dog lover. On any given day, she can usually be found on a nearby walking trail with her beloved “Jake,” a spirited 80 pound boxer-pit bull mix.

Faculty Advisor
Katie Bigart, MS, RDN, LD
Katie completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned a Masters Degree in Public Health Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship at CWRU. During her graduate experience Katie worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Community Dentistry at CWRU, where she studied the effectiveness of motivational interviewing in adolescents, helping guide them toward proper nutritional goals and action plans. During her time at CWRU, Katie also gained nutrition and dietetic experience in a variety of practice settings.
Katie began her career as a K-12 school nutrition consultant for Pisanick Partners, LLC in Cleveland, OH, where she developed, analyzed, and implemented USDA compliant menus for 13 Northeast Ohio School Districts. She also provided Administrative Review preparation for school kitchen audits and trained staff on Professional Standards for State and Local Nutrition Programs.
Katie then joined Be Well Solutions as an Account Manager and Wellness Dietitian. During this time she helped to develop worksite wellness programs for a variety of corporate, public and municipal clients. Katie coordinated and managed health screenings, performed individual nutritional consultations, group presentations and served and facilitated client wellness committee meetings.
Katie is a certified Health Coach through the American College of Exercise and embraces the balance of an active and healthy lifestyle, filled with hiking, weightlifting, cooking and movies. She loves spending quality time with her husband, boy/girl twins and two dogs.

Faculty Advisor
Stephanie Hopkins, MS, RDN, LD
Stephanie earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University. She completed her dietetic internship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and, as an intern, earned the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Student award for Ohio in 2016. During her clinical internship at University Hospitals, Stephanie discovered a passion for oncology nutrition.
She went on to start her dietetics career at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. There, she counseled patients in a variety of settings such as medical oncology, surgical oncology, gynecological oncology, and hematology oncology. Her dedication to helping people navigate nutrition during cancer treatment then brought her to The Gathering Place.
As the registered dietitian for The Gathering Place, she designed and implemented a wide offering of nutrition programs including hands-on cooking classes, informational webinars, outreach events, and nutrition and exercise series. And in 2021, Stephanie was recognized as Young Dietitian of the Year for Ohio.
Stephanie has now taken on the venture to begin her own consulting company. At home she is with her two young children, encouraging their interest in helping to cook and playing in the kitchen. She also enjoys hiking with her husband, staying active outside or in the gym, and reading.

Faculty Advisor
Helen M Dumski, MA, RDN, LD
Experienced healthcare and nonprofit executive with a distinguished career spanning healthcare administration, diabetes care, nutrition, and community health program leadership. Proven track record of leading multimillion-dollar organizations and budgets, developing innovative chronic disease prevention and management programs, and building strategic partnerships that expand access to health and nutrition services. Currently, as an Adjunct Instructor in the Nutrition Department at Case Western Reserve University, coordinates supervised practice experiences for dietetic interns, teaches a community nutrition course focused on food insecurity and community health, and leads community diabetes prevention programs.
Recognized for expertise in organizational leadership, program development and operational management, with executive leadership experience in healthcare systems, nonprofit organizations, and community-based health programs. A respected advocate for diabetes education and prevention, recipient of numerous professional honors, including Diabetes Educator of the Year from the American Diabetes Association and Trustee of the Year from the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland. Holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration from John Carroll University and a bachelor’s degree in medical dietetics from The Ohio State University. Serves as a community leader through board and advisory roles supporting health and human services initiatives.

Faculty Advisor
Brianna Tobritzhofer, MS, RD, LD
Brianna (Bri) Tobritzhofer is a registered dietitian based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota with over 10 years of experience in nutrition education, communications & marketing, and public health program development. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and her Master’s in Dietetics and internship at Mount Mary University.
Bri is passionate about mentoring future dietitians and previously served as a Faculty Advisor and Marketing Manager for BWS DI in 2021-2023. She has worked across nonprofit, government, and healthcare settings and also writes for publications like Today’s Dietitian and Healthline: Authority Nutrition. An active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Bri has served in leadership roles at both the state and national levels. Most recently, she was the Treasurer and Interim Chair for the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. She has also served as the Communications Director for the Minnesota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
In her free time, Bri loves spending quality time with her husband, 1-year old daughter, and two dogs. She is a foodie and enjoys exploring new restaurants and coffee shops in the Twin Cities!

Faculty Advisor
Melissa Lustic-Long MS, RDN, LDN, LAT, ATC, CSCS
Melissa Lustic-Long completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Mount Union, where she graduated with a BS in Athletic Training and minors in Chemistry and Exercise Science. She then continued her education at Ohio University, earning a Master of Science in Nutrition Science with a concentration in Sport and Fitness. She worked in Division II collegiate athletics as a certified athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and assistant professor, before returning to school at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania to complete her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Melissa then worked as a clinical exercise physiologist before returning to full-time academia, teaching first as a clinical instructor, then as an assistant professor, in athletic training education. Melissa completed her dietetic internship with Be Well Solutions as a member of the Fall 2022 cohort, completing rotations with Erie County WIC, in-patient clinical nutrition, pre-school and hospital food service, outpatient eating disorders, and corporate and collegiate wellness.
Following completion of her internship, Melissa continues to teach in the Sports Medicine and Public Health departments at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA while also working as a per diem clinical dietitian at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie and as a campus and wellness dietitian with Parkhurst Dining at Allegheny College.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time outside in all weather with her husband, two young daughters, and dog Chili, visiting farmer’s markets, and trying new restaurants and bakeries. She is also an avid distance runner, having completed several marathons and ultra-distance events including the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim.

Tammy Humphries
Tammy completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at Cleveland State University. She worked at several investment companies as an Executive Assistant and as a Trading Assistant handling back-office functions. Tammy joined BWS DI in the fall of 2022 and assists with organization, coordination, and communication for the Intern classes. Tammy is passionate about health and wellness and is excited to be part of a company that supports healthy lifestyle practices.
In her free time, she enjoys walking/hiking, biking, fitness classes, and spending time with family and friends.
