Preceptor Toolkit

Getting ready to apply for dietetic internships can be both exciting and nerve-wracking. While securing your own rotation sites and preceptors adds a few more tasks to the to-do list, it can also allow for a more enjoyable and fulfilling dietetic internship experience. BWS DI prepared a detailed preceptor toolkit to help you get started in finding your preceptors.

Application Checklist

  1. Learn all about our DI Application Process here.
  2. Check to see if you’re eligible for our Preselect Option!
  3. Decide the pathway (DI-Only vs MS/DI) and track (FT vs PT) you plan to apply to.
  4. Are you eligible for Prior Assessed Learning? Learn about the PAL process here.
  5. Understand the Important Dates for your Match Cycle so you don’t miss a thing!
  6. Register for DICAS and D&D Digital.
  7. Download the rotation schedule template & review tips for securing rotations or watch the Finding Preceptors Workshop for help.
  8. Request your official transcripts and/or proof of Master’s Program acceptance.
  9. Write your personal statement. 
  10. Update your resume.
  11. Obtain 3 letters of recommendation.
  12. Complete the Supplemental Application, including the Proposed Rotation Schedule.
  13. Pay the BWS DI application fee, which can be done here.
  14. Submit your DICAS application!
