Reflecting on a Successful 2024: A Year of Growth and Accomplishment for Our Dietetic Internship Program
As we approach the end of 2024, we look back on an incredible year of achievements, growth, and success for the Be Well Solutions Dietetic Internship program. Even as the program navigated the challenges of the 2024 MS/DI requirement and the new DICAS application process, we witnessed our applicants, interns, and alumni demonstrate hard work and commitment to the dietetics profession.
So, to end the year on a positive note, let’s review some of the amazing accomplishments of our BWS DI community.
Graduation and RD Exam Success
This year, we added 9 graduates to our BWS DI alumni community which now stands at over 200 alum! Every intern worked diligently to complete the BWS DI coursework and their supervised practice required to become registered dietitian nutritionists. These interns have demonstrated exceptional skill, resilience, and passion for nutrition and dietetics. Their hard work has culminated in the successful completion of our program, and we are excited to see how they will impact the future of nutrition and health.
Additionally, we are thrilled to report that 22 of our alumni passed the RD Exam in 2024! Based on those confirmed to have taken the exam, our RD Exam pass rate still stands at 95%, which we believe is a testament to the high caliber of education and support provided by our internship program. Our alumni’s success on the RD exam highlights the effectiveness of our curriculum and the commitment of both our interns and faculty in achieving their professional goals. We are confident that these newly certified RDNs will go on to make significant contributions in various fields, from clinical nutrition to community health, education, and beyond.
Dietetics Career Advancement and Entrepreneurship
In 2024, our alumni continued to demonstrate their versatility and entrepreneurial spirit. Fifty of our graduates either secured new positions or launched their own private practices. Some of our alumni now hold titles such as Major League Dietitian, Clinical Nutritionist, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Specialist, Health Coach, and Director of Foodservice, amongst many others.
This reflects the strength of our program in preparing interns for success in a variety of professional paths. Whether entering corporate wellness, clinical nutrition, or starting their own businesses, our alumni are making a lasting impact on the field of nutrition and dietetics.
A Growing Community of Nutrition & Dietetic Professionals
This year, we were also proud to admit 25 new interns from all over the United States into our program. We have interns representing the following states: New York, Texas, North Carolina, California, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Arizona, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Oregon.
Of the 25 new interns we admitted into the program, 14 of those interns chose to complete our part-time track, demonstrating the popularity of this option for many dietetic interns! For those who do not know, the Be Well Solutions Dietetic Internship program introduced a part-time track option back in 2023 and we’re so excited this option has been helpful to those in need of additional flexibility during their internship programs.
With these new interns, we continue to expand our community of dietetic professionals, all of whom bring fresh perspectives, ideas, and enthusiasm to the program. We are excited to watch them grow throughout their internships and look forward to the contributions they will make to the program and the field at large.
Looking Forward to 2025
As we look to the future, we are filled with optimism and excitement for what 2025 holds. We plan to continue providing exceptional training to our interns, equipping them with the skills they need to excel in an ever-evolving field. In addition, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers our interns to pursue their passions and succeed in their careers.
We also anticipate more success stories from our alumni network as they continue to make waves in the world of nutrition and dietetics. Whether they are advancing in their careers, furthering their education, or opening new private practices, we are proud to be part of their journey and excited to witness their continued success.
With a strong foundation of accomplishments in 2024, we look forward to another year of growth and success in 2025. The Be Well Solutions Dietetic Internship program remains committed to shaping the future of nutrition by preparing the next generation of dietetics professionals.
